The BCH10 Step-Down Series Battery Chargers deliver up to 10 amps of charging current at 12, 24, 36, or 48 volts, drawing power from any input voltage between 20 and 80 volts DC. Encased in a rugged, IP66-rated watertight enclosure (OPT-Y provides IP67), these chargers are ideal for use in automotive, heavy equipment, marine, industrial, rail, and alternative energy environments. The output voltage is designed for permanent connection to the battery.
The standard BCH10W model includes a Deutsch connector with a pigtail input/output cable. Its high-frequency surface-mount design ensures higher reliability, greater efficiency (over 91%), and more power (up to 544 watts at 48 VDC), all in a compact size.
Built for extreme conditions, the BCH10W Series operates in temperatures from -40°C to +55°C and is designed to resist shock and vibration.
Key safety features include reverse input protection, reverse battery connection protection, output over-voltage protection, and spark-free connection to the battery. The smart Ideal Diode output circuitry also prevents any reverse current from flowing from the battery back into the converter.
